Ms. Soraya Wall (McClung)
Soraya Wall is the executive director of Global Forensic Consultants, LLC. She is an international consultant and trainer in forensic science, quality assurance, and ISO accreditation. She has 32 years of experience in forensic science and served for seven years as director of the West Virginia State Police Forensic Laboratory. She has served for five years on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD). As chairwoman of the ASCLD International Liaison Committee, Soraya has worked with the International Forensic Strategic Alliance (IFSA) and its partners, Interpol and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on developing minimum standards for emerging forensic laboratories. Soraya also served as the Secretary of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee on Forensic Sciences (TC 272). In this capacity, she worked on the development of ISO 18385, a standard for the manufacturing of consumables for forensic DNA analysis and a series of ISO Standards on Forensic Science.
Ms. Wall is a highly experienced DNA Lead auditor and International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC) 17025 Assessor. She has more than 20 years of experience participating in ISO/IEC 17025 assessments and has successfully prepared laboratories at the national and international level for ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation. In addition to her work as an assessor and auditor, she has vast experience working as a forensic advisor for the U.S. Department of Justice International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program.
She served as the director of the Houston Forensic Science Center Training Division for over two years. She managed a team that delivered training in crime scene investigation, fingerprint analysis, audio/video analysis, digital forensics, forensic toxicology, forensic anthropology, latent print examination, quality, ethics, and courtroom testimony. Her division also provided training to the judicial system on forensic science. She continues her work as an instructor for the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation WorkPlace Training(A2LAWPT), which works with testing and calibration laboratories from diverse industries such as chemical, medical, food and drugs, forensic, and automobile.
