Team Manager of Chemistry trace evidence sub-type casework at Forensic Science Ireland from 2022 to date. Oversee a range of evidence types including Gunshot residue (GSR), explosives, fire accelerants, offensive sprays, unknown chemical identification, paint, glass, and introduced Nitrous Oxide as a new analytical service in 2023. Team Manager of DNA serious crime (Murders and assaults) from 2016 to 2022, also holding responsibility for all Body IDs. Collaborator on ENFSI DNActivity Monopoly funded project 2014-17. Collaborated with UCD for project on DNA identity of ancient bones using Next Generation Sequencing. I have ten publications in the area of DNA / body fluid transfer and persistence, and DNA evaluative opinion. In 2011- 2012 I completed a Certificate of Advance Studies in Statistics and Forensic Evaluation, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. External Peer Reviewer for Forensic Science International: Genetics, and Science and Justice journals. Research interests include: Evaluative reporting, GSR analysis, Paint and Glass evidence, Body fluids, DNA STR analysis and DNA mixture analysis, Blood pattern analysis, Scenes of crime.
